About this event
The Climate and Sustainability Academy (CaSA) is excited to offer students, staff, and faculty the opportunity to explore hope and courage in a changing world through a creative arts session in partnership with The Crafts Center.
Artist Melinda Abrams will lead a tile painting activity where you will translate your ideas onto a 4" tile using ceramic underglazes with a wide selection of colors to choose from. The tiles will be coated in a clear glaze, fired, and available 1-2 weeks after the session.
Studio space is limited, so participation is capped at 20 attendees (10 students, 5 faculty, and 5 staff members).
Available spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis as registrations are received. You will receive an email confirmation or be placed on a waitlist should a spot become available.
Guidance from Melinda :
In this session, we will share what and who inspires us to make a difference for the environment. If there is a quote that has been meaningful to you…please bring it. If there is a book title, or podcast, or movie, or author who has inspired you…please bring that information. If you are looking for inspiration…just bring yourself, I will have some resources to share.
In the words of Adrienne Maree Brown, “What we pay attention to grows, so I’m thinking about how we grow what we are all imagining and creating into something large enough and solid enough that it becomes a tipping point.” And what we want to tip toward is community, care, repair, and renewal.
