2026 Christmas Angel Tree

A Unity in the Community Project Benefitting Children in Foster Care Through the Wake County Guardian ad Litem Program

November 15 – November 29

For over 20 years, Unity of the Triangle has provided Christmas gifts to children and teens in the Wake County foster care system through our Christmas Angel Tree. This an opportunity to share our love and generosity with these kids and teens during the holidays. We know from doing this so many years what a meaningful difference this makes in their lives!

How Does The Angel Tree Work?

• Look for the special Christmas tree at Unity with tags on it. Each tag will include the wishlist for a specific child.

• Pick one (or more!) tags.

• Take the tag(s) to the lobby desk and register the tag . This allows our volunteer elves to know who has what gift tag.

• Bring back the gift wrapped, with the receipt and angel tagged lightly taped onto the package. Write the child’s name small on one corner of the back of the package. Please no personal notes or cards.

How much is each tag on the Angel Tree?

We have tried to make each Angel tag on the tree represent a child’s specific request. Each Angel tag will be approximately $40. Larger items may involve two Angel tags. Our intention is to provide approximately $200 in gifts or gift cards for each child, which will allow for both “fun items” and basic needs such as coats, winter shoes, clothing, etc.

Important Reminder!

After you select an Angel tag from the tree, please remember to register it with a Christmas Angel Elf (likely at the counter in the lobby) so we can track all the angel tags to make sure all children have gifts.

The Christmas Angel Tree Timeline

• Sunday, November 15, 2026 and Sunday, November 22, 2026: Choose your angels from the Tree in the lobby

• November 22, 2026 – November 29, 2026: Return your gifts

Can I give money to the Angel Tree project instead of buying gifts?

Yes! You can make a monetary gift of any amount. If you prefer to make a cash or credit card donation, we will use that money to fulfill the wishes of an Angel on the tree. Any leftover money will be donated to the Wake County Guardian ad Litem program . If you select an Angel tag and the child has requested a gift card, bring that tag to the desk and pay with cash or card, and we will purchase the gift card for you, saving you from the store’s added gift charge.

What is the Wake County Guardian ad Litem Christmas Angel Tree Project?

The children and teens represented on the Unity of the Triangle Angel Tree are a subset of children who are in the Wake County Guardian ad Litem Christmas Angel project. The program provides gifts for children in the foster care system, including new clothes, toys, and other items to create a sense of normalcy for the children. The project also helps to fund other initiatives, such as educational support and camp grants, to help children thrive throughout the year. The Christmas Angel Tree is one of our annual Unity in the Community service projects.

We are a spiritual community awakening to our Divine nature through love, service, and personal transformation.
