Act of Kindness Day!!!

About this event

Join us for a meaningful and joy-filled volunteer experience as we spend time engaging with residents at Providence Assisted Living in Smithfield!

This event is all about bringing SMILES, CONNECTION, and lighthearted FALL FUN to individuals who can truly benefit from social interaction and compassionate presence.

We’ll be playing simple games, crafting, chatting, listening to stories, and creating a warm, uplifting atmosphere. NO prior experience with dementia care is needed—just patience, kindness, and an open heart. :)

What We’ll Do:

• Play easy, interactive games (cards, puzzles, bingo, etc.)

• Engage in friendly conversations

• Offer companionship and emotional support

• Share laughter and positive energy

Why It Matters: Many residents in memory care communities experience isolation. Your presence can make a powerful difference—boosting mood, stimulating memory, and reminding them they are seen and valued.

What to Bring:

• A positive attitude

• Comfortable clothing

• Optional: SUGAR Free snacks/popsicles, chocolate

• Optional: simple games or conversation starters

Important Notes:

• Please arrive on time so we can enter as a group

• Be respectful and mindful of residents’ needs and boundaries

• A brief orientation will be provided at the start

Who Should Attend: Anyone who enjoys giving back, connecting with others, and making a difference in a gentle yet impactful way.
